Staveley Library on August 7, 2026
As part of a visit to Derbyshire to support the work of libraries and National Year of Reading 2026, Patrick will be doing a daytime talk at 11 am in Staveley Library. He will be talking about his new novel, Love Lane, which takes up the story where his earlier bestseller, A Place Called Winter, left off, and about the strange process of turning his relatives and their stories into a work of fiction. An ideal event to bring your book club to, as this is a daytime talk in a public space, it is also very much toddler-friendly, so please don’t feel inhibited about bringing along babies or toddlers! If you’re going to be at work then, panic not, as Patrick will be repeating the talk that evening in Chesterfield’s main library auditorium. See separate post for details of that.
Entry is free but places are limited so please phone the library in advance to reserve your places on 01629 533 629. Or you can email your details and requirements to Staveley.library@derbyshire.gov.uk.
