Patrick on Mental Illness on November 11, 2020
Patrick has often observed that one of the curious side effects of writing novels over a long period – in his case over thirty years – is the emergence of unintended themes in one’s work. In his case one of these is mental illness and extreme mental states. As part of his Quay Words residency at the Exeter’s lovely old Custom House Museum this autumn, he’ll be talking about his treatments of mental illness in his writing over the years, giving readings and taking questions.
Because of Covid restrictions, access to the building during the event is going to be tremendously limited. The talk is therefore being broadcast online. Places are limited but free and booking one will enable you to join in the conversation by putting questions to Patrick. Click here to book your place.
Patrick’s talk begins at 6.30 and lasts an hour.
