All Families Have Secrets – Patrick Gale’s Art of Fiction on July 29, 2017

Patrick's parents' wedding day

As part of its Gay Britannia season, the BBC has commissioned Alex Harding to make a half hour documentary about Patrick and his work. Threaded through with a mischievous and revealing interview by Stephen Fry, it shows Patrick’s idyllic life in west Cornwall and offers glimpses of the real life family dramas behind his fictions, including Notes from an Exhibition, Rough Music, Friendly Fire, A Place Called Winter and his drama Man in an Orange Shirt. It will be screened on BBC2 at 8.30pm and then be available on iPlayer.

You can find out more about it from the BBC here.
